E tc i <br /> in - <br /> nv- mental 23361 Madero Sheet,Suite 100,Mission Viejo Ca 92691-2730(714)581-6860 <br /> Omnsidtants, Inc. <br /> September 21, 1990 <br /> Kathleen Scheutzow <br /> Corporate Environmental Affairs <br /> Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc <br /> 1200 Firestone Parkway 5FW3 <br /> Akron, OH 44317 <br /> RE Environmental Assessment,Firestone Store#3573,400 N El Dorado Street,Stockton,California <br /> TRC Project Number 8435-P53-00 <br /> Dear Ms Scheutzow <br /> TRC Environmental Consultants, Inc (TRC) is pleased to present this summary of the above <br /> referenced project The investigation included a study of recent aerial photographs of the site, a <br /> review of available in-house regulatory agency materials, an asbestos survey, and a site walkover to <br /> observe any visually obvious environmental concerns The investigation was performed by Staff <br /> Project Hydrogeologist William R Shofner Project Engineer Mary T Janecek provided final report <br /> review and general management of this project Principal Hydrogeologist Schaun M Smith provided <br /> final approval of this report <br /> SITE WALKOVER <br /> On September 11, 1990,TRC performed a site walkover of the Firestone facility at 400 N El Dorado <br /> Street,Stockton, California(Figure 1) The facility is bordered by Beneficial and Stockton Municipal <br /> Employees Thrift and Credit Union to the north, Kinser Motor Supply to the east, Lindsay Street and <br /> American Furniture Club to the south, and El Dorado Street and Stockton City Hall to the west The <br /> building was open and operating normally during the inspection <br /> The property contains one building which is constructed of concrete and brick foundation and walls, <br /> covered mostly with plaster, and a wood framed roof(Figure 2) The building is currently occupied <br /> by Firestone The interior floor of the sales area and bathrooms are covered with floor the The file <br /> in the sales area and the bathrooms were of the same type A sample of the floor the was collected <br /> for asbestos analysis The ceiling in the sales area is constructed of plaster The roofing material was <br /> not sampled because the roof was inaccessible There were no obvious environmental concerns <br /> observed in the sales area <br /> Six floor mounted hoists are located in the service bay Moderate oil stains were observed on the <br /> concrete floor in the immediate vicinity of each of the hoists The eastern wall of the service bay area <br /> contains a tire machine, an Octosorb Emergency Spill Containment Unit, and a Safety Kleen solvent <br /> parts washer Minor oil stains were observed on the concrete floor in the vicinity of the parts washer <br /> A small container of Kendall gear lube, three mobile Kendall 16-gallon containers (used for <br /> temporary storage of waste oil), one mobile lubing container with attached pump, two mobile 16- <br /> gallon automatic transmission containers with attached pumps, and one mobile 16-gallon container <br /> of Kendall gear lube are also located along the eastern wall Moderate to heavy oil stains were <br /> observed on the concrete floor in the vicinity of these containers A wheel alignment pit is located <br /> Las Angeles CA•Denver CO•Hartford CT•New York NY•Somerset NJ•Washington DC•Seattle WA <br /> A TIC.
