El Dorado Street <br /> Stockton, California <br />' QST Project No. 64-98-090 <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> 1 QST Environmental Inc , (QST) is pleased to submit this report of"Additional Site Assessment and Request <br /> for Environmental Closure" for the former Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc (BFS) facility (site) to Stockton, <br /> California The objective of this site assessment was to determine the presence or absence of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater surrounding the formerly closed in place underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) The assessment was performed in accordance with an approved workplan dated October 8, 1998 <br />' prepared by QST on behalf of BFS and submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) Site assessment results support a request for environmental <br /> closure Background information and results of the assessment are described in the following sections <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> ' SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The former BFS facility was located at the northeast corner of the intersection of North El Dorado Street and <br /> Lindsay Street in Stockton, Calaforma (Figure 1 - Site Map) Highway 4 is located approximately 1h-rule <br /> south of the site Stockton City Hall and McLeod Lake, part of the Deepwater Channel of the San Joaquin <br /> River, are across El Dorado Street to the west approximately 400 feet from the site <br /> ' GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is located in downtown Stockton at an elevation of approximately 15 feet above mean sea level(USGS <br /> 1968) The topography in the area is flat and has an estimated hydraulic gradient of 0 001 feet per foot to the <br /> west Stockton is located within the Central Valley Geomorpluc Province of California <br /> Quaternary aged alluvium predommates the surficial deposits In this area the surficial alluvium is greater than <br /> 600 feet in thickness and consists of layers of sands, silts, and clays During previous site investigations, fine- <br /> grained silty clay to clay materials were found in the upper 20 feet of soil <br /> ' 3545 Howard Way,Second Floor,Costa Mesa CA 92626-1418,Phone 714.426.9000,FAX 714.426.9027 <br /> Formerly Environmental Science&Engineering,Inc <br />
