The retention basin captures stormwater runoff and drainage from throughout the Tesla Treatment Facility and provides for containment and sedimentation before flow continues eastward and offsite. From the retention basin, drainage flows via underground piping eastward and discharges offsite. From the property fence, drainage flows downhill in a northeasterly direction via drainage channels towards Interstate Highway I-580, located approximately 0.6 miles to the northeast of the facility.
