3 <br /> PROPOSAL FOR ASSESSMENT OF HYDROCARBON IMPACTED SOIL <br /> Stockton Plating, Inc. <br /> 632 South El Dorado Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the Invitation For Bid (IFB) dated February 13, 1995, from Hartmann <br /> & Setness (H&S), Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this proposal <br /> to perform an Assessment of Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil at 632 South El Dorado Street in <br /> Stockton, California (the site). <br /> According to information in the IFB, two underground storage tanks (USTs)were removed <br /> from the site. One UST, used for leaded gasoline,was removed in 1986. The second UST, <br /> used for unleaded gasoline, was removed in 1990 Four groundwater monitoring wells and <br /> several soil borings have been previously drilled and installed at the site. <br /> The objectives of the proposed investigation are to "discriminate between the two former <br /> tank locations as to the source of the known groundwater and soil impacted at the site" and <br /> to assess the lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil at the site <br /> 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work includes the advancement of three CPT penetrations to depths of 50 feet. <br /> Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals an analyzed Additionally, nine soil vapor <br /> penetrations will be advanced to depths of 50 feet, based upon the soil vapor data, four soil <br /> borings will be drilled to depths of 50 feet to collect discrete soil samples The data <br /> collected will be used to prepare a Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER). <br /> The following Mems are included in this proposal <br /> TASK 1 - Planninyg and Permits <br /> ♦ Site background investigation All available reports and correspondence for the Site <br /> will be reviewed by GeoAudit personnel to obtain working knowledge of the Site <br /> ♦ Preparation of a site specific health and safety plan that meets all San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and <br /> OSHA guidelines <br /> ♦ Preparation of a Work Plan for the CPT advancement and the soil vapor survey <br />.
