!f <br /> 23 April 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0142 <br /> Page 2 of 16 <br /> Review of previous ground water monitoring at the site and historical depth to ground water maps <br /> (FCD&WCD)dating back to 1971 suggested that ground water depth near the site has been as deep <br /> as 60 feet bsg <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> AGE has been Informed that two underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the <br /> property One 1,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST was removed from the site in August 1986 and one <br /> 2,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST was removed from the site in 1990 Petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> were detected in soil samples collected from beneath both USTs at the time of the removals Results <br /> ofthe UST removals were summarized in reports prepared by American Environmental Management <br /> Corporation(AEMC,6 October 1986)and Condor Earth Technologies,Inc (CET,2 January 1991) <br /> 23 SITE ASSESSMENT/INSTALLATION OF GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELLS <br /> Since 1990,a total of eight groundwater monitoring wells,multiple soil borings/soil vapor sampling <br /> locations and four soil vapor extraction wells have been installed at the site to develop a hydrologic <br /> model and assess vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water The <br /> following is a summary of milestone events at the site <br /> • In September 1991, six soil borings were drilled at the site <br /> • On 9 and 10 February 1994, ground water monitoring wells MW-1,MW-2 and MW-3 were <br /> Installed at the site <br /> • In November 1994, ground water monitoring well MW-4 was installed at the site <br /> • On 13 June 1995 three soil probe borings were advanced at the site On 14 and 15 June 1995, <br /> soil vapor samples were obtained from the site <br /> • On 25 and 26 September 1995,four soil borings were drilled at the site,borings VE-1,VE-2, <br /> VE-3 and VE-4 were completed as dual-screened soil vapor extraction wells <br /> • On 24 April 1997, ground water monitoring well MW-5 was installed at the site <br /> • On 22 May 1998, four soil probe borings (ASB4 to AS137) were advanced at the site <br /> • On 04 November 1998, ground water monitoring well MW-6 was Installed on-site <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
