GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC. <br /> 1714 Main Street <br /> Escalon, California 95320-1927 <br /> Telephone (209)838-9888 <br /> Facsimile (209)838-9883 <br /> October 24, 2002 <br /> Ms Lori Duncan <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Third Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> 640 N El Dorado Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> This letter report presents the results of third quarter 2002 groundwater monitoring and sampling <br /> activities at the subject site (Figure 1) <br /> SITE ACTIVITIES <br /> iActivities at the site included removing free product from well MW3, monitoring water level <br /> elevations in all site wells, purging and sampling groundwater from site wells, and analyzing <br /> groundwater samples for oxygenated gasoline additives and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) <br /> FIELD WORK <br /> Free Product Measurement and Recovery <br /> A Ground Zero technician measured and removed free product from well MW3 periodically <br /> during the reporting period The thickness of measured product ranged from 1 34 feet on August <br /> S, 2002 to 0 71 feet on September 19, 2002 Approximately 7 5 gallons of product/water <br /> mixture was removed from well MW3 during the reporting period by manually bailing the <br /> product from the well The removed product was transferred into 5-gallon pails, which are stored <br /> inside a 55-gallon drum The waste is being stored according to 49 CFR part 172 and 40 CFR <br /> part 262 Table 1 summarizes product thickness measurements and volume removed Field notes <br /> associated with product bailing, including a chart showing the measured product thickness over <br /> time, are included in Attachment A <br /> Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Monitoring wells MW1 through MW4 were monitored for water level elevations and wells MWI, <br /> MW2 and MW4 were purged and sampled on September 19, 2002 No samples were collected from <br /> 01 well MW3 due to the presence of free product The depths to water in wells MWl, MW2, and MW4 <br /> were monitored using an electronic water level indicator The depth to water and depth to product in <br /> G\DatalGRO TNDz,E1GABBARblrepoAs\3QM2002 doc <br />
