lie 21 October 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0426
' 'McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI),a Cali form a Department of Health Services-certified laboratory
The samples were analyzed for
' Dissolved lead in accordance with EPA Method 200 9, and
• 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA
Method 8260B
' 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water flow direction and gradient were inferred from data collected in the field, the
' hydrocarbon Impact to ground water was quantified by the laboratory data obtained from the ground
water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water ranged from 23 58 feet to
24 70 feet as measured from the top of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged
from 14 09 feet below mean sea level(MSL)in MW2 to 14 33 feet below MSL in MW5,the ground
water elevation at the site decreased an average of 102 feet between the May 2002 and August 2002
' monitoring events Ground water was within the screened Intervals In all five wells
i
The ground water gradient was calculated to be approximately 0 004 ft/ft with a north-northeasterly
flow direction The ground water elevation contours are depicted on Figure 3
1
' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Dissolved lead was not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the samples collected from the
' five on-site monitoring wells 1;2-DCA was detected in the groundwater sample collected from well
MW5 at a concentration of 0 77 microgram per liter (µg/1) 1,2-DCA was not detected above -
laboratory reporting limits in the samples collected from wells MW1 through MW4 EDB was not
' detected In wells MW1 through MW5
' .The current and historical ground water analytical results are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The
laboratory report(MAI Lab IDs 0208144-001 through 0208144-005),chain-of-custody form and the
laboratory QA/QC report are included in Appendix C
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
