Ib
f4
P
3.0 PROPOSED SC;Pg OF WORK
The work proposed for this investigation includes the
t
drilling of six (6) soil borings located around the two former
r` F tank sites. The proposed lo7ations of the soil borings are shown
in Figure 3. All permits required for the drilling of the soil
borings will be obtained from San Joagriin County.
The soil
y borings will be drilled by a California licensed driller, under
the direct supervision of a Candor geologist. Soil samples will
r:
be collected at 5-foot intervals for geologic logging and possible
laboratory analysis. An organic vapor analyzer (OVA - Flame
Ionization Detector) will be used to screen the soil samples
during the drilling process. In the event that hydrocarbons are
h
detected, the samples will be sealed and placed in a cooler
chilled with blue ice for chemical analysis. Descriptions of
ing procedures proposed for th©
drilling, logging, and sampl
R
 Y investigation are presented below.
3.1 Soil Borings
,The soil borings will be drilled with 8-inch O.D. hollow-stem
t
continuous-flight augers. The augers will be advanced either to
{1) five feet below the deepest detectable contamination (g9
detected. in the fiend by organic vapor analyzer), or {2) until
the capillary fringe is encosntered.
w
Z'
 _ CONDOR
U5
R
