4
December 17, 1992
Mr John Margowsk
Manager, Environmental Affairs
Wickland Properties
P. O Box 13648
Sacramento, CA 95853-4648
(916) 921-1100 (FAX 916) 921-3610
RE Results of sampling of the influent-effluent of vapor
extraction system, former Regal Station 604 , 1448 N. El Dorado
Street and Harding Way, Stockton, California, under Authority to
Construct Permit ## AP 91-106
Dear Mr Margowski
As you have instructed, Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE) is
continuing to check the effluent and influent of the system as
outlined in Permit # AP 91-106 The following are the results of
the sampling for the period November 4 to December 9 1992 .
INTRODUCTION
This letter documents the results of the ongoing sampling of the
active carbon scrub controlled vapor extraction system at the
above mentioned site
SITE STATUS
CURRENT OPERATIONS
During July, 1992, four new vapor extraction wells were installed
while drilling conformation soil borings at the site . The wells
are VSB3 , VSB5, VSB9 and VSB11 Vapor extraction well P1 was
drilled up and destroyed at this time The vacuum extraction
system currently consists of two Rotron DR505 blowers pulling 67
cubic feet per minute (CFM) of soil vapor from the following
wells : VSB3 , VSB5, VSB9, VSB11, and MW5 As of 12/09/92 the
system is removing 11 03 pounds per day of TFH hydrocarbons
In order to gain a better understanding of the processes
occurring at this site, we have began to test the vapor stream for
carbon dioxide content . From this added analysis we can estimate
the amount of hydrocarbons destroyed at the site by subsurface
biological and chemical oxidation, driven for the most part by
the vapor extraction. As of 12/09/92, the current CO2 production
indicates that 45 . 45 pounds per day of hydrocarbon is being
oxidized
page 1 of R604 , 12/17/92
