s
manifolded to the treatment area, above ground. Using an
explosion proof, gasoline compatable 1 horsepower regenerative
blower (EG&G ROTRON DR 404) , the wells were manifolded to the
- intake of the blower which exhausted into tour 85 gallon activated r
charcoal tub scrubs placed in series. The test was started on
December 10, 1990 but was shut down, due to a leak developing in
? the blower, on December 13, 199n. Since breakthrough was occuring
between the second and third canister, canisters 1 and 2 were sent
to Cameron Yakima for rejuvination. After repairing the blower
and recieving the rejuvinated canisters the test was restarted
with all four canisters in series on December 27, 1990 and
+ terminated on Tanuary 4, 1991, when breakthrough was noted on the
R exhaust of the fourth-85 gallon charcoal canisters. An estimate
of total recovered/absorbed gasoline range hydrocarbons during
i this test is 750 pounds or 110 gallons of degraded gasoline
(taking an average of the lbs/day calculated (68 lbs/day) , after
discarding the high reading on December 10 and the low reading on
December 29, and multiplying by the total days operated, 11) , see
Tables 3A and 3B, Prior to the pilot test a revised estimated of
- the pounds of gasoline hydrocarbons that still remained in the
soil after excavating and aeration treatment of 3018 pounds was
calculated. After the pilot test this leaves approximately 2268
pounds or 335 gallons of aged gasoline left in the soil to be
removed, see Table 3C.
LOCATION
Regal Station 604 (parcel #139-020--08) is located at 1448 N.
