S E C 0 R <br /> i <br /> �i Mr Mike Infurna <br /> August 12, 2004 <br /> Page 2 <br /> bgs Approximately ten feet of screen will be placed in the bottom of the boring A grade of sand <br /> appropriate to the screen size will be placed in the annular space across the entire screened interval, <br /> and will extend approximately two foot above the top of the screen for the wells A bentonite pellet <br /> seal will extend two to four feet above the sand pack The monitoring wells will be completed with <br /> neat cement from the bentonite seal to the ground surface Grout will be tremmied through one-inch <br /> diameter PVC pipe between the hammer casing and the well casing as the hammer casing is <br /> retrieved, preventing cross contamination and ensuring a proper seal The well casing will be topped <br /> with a locking cap The well head will be contained in a watertight monument well box Proposed <br /> well construction details are included in Table 1 <br /> Sample Selection and Analysis No soil samples will be collected from wells MW-15 and MW-16 <br /> because of existing soil data Soil samples will be collected at 10 foot interval from 80 to 120 feet bgs <br /> in the well MW-17 Soil samples will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, fuel oxygenates (MtBE, D1PE, <br /> TAME, ELBE, TBA, and ethanol), and lead scavengers (1,2-DCA and EDB) using EPA Method 8260 <br /> Monitoring Well Development and Sampling After installation, the wells will be developed by <br /> rigorously surging the wells over the length of the screen interval and by purging approximately 10 <br /> casing volumes of water After well development, groundwater samples will be collected from the <br /> newly installed well and sent under standard chain-of-custody procedures to a California State- <br /> certified laboratory The groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, fuel oxygenates <br /> . (MtBE, DIPE, TAME, EtBE, TBA, and ethanol), and lead scavengers (1,2-DCA and EDB) using EPA <br /> Method 8260 <br /> Report A report will be prepared after completion of necessary fieldwork The report will include <br /> soil boring logs, soil and groundwater analytical results, chain-of-custody documentation, and <br /> conclusions <br /> Field and laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment B <br /> SCHEDULE <br /> SECOR is prepared to initiate fieldwork within four weeks following approval of this work plan and <br /> issuance of permits by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department A complete <br /> report will be prepared fully documenting the findings of the additional well installation activities <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> ConocoPhdlipsl44091work plansMP For Well Installation 8-04 doc <br />
