Laboratory analysis revealed
detectable levels of 'BTEX, EDH, 'and TPH-O from thn sample taken at
y the west and of the tank; (Table I)
A re-excavation/resainple work-plan was submitted by Thorpe Oil Co. ,
and approved by the San Joaquin Co. Environmental Health Division.
From January 19 to January 23, 1990, approximately 300 cubic yards
of spoil was removed from the site of the UST, resulting in an
excavation 30' X 19' X 21' deep. Soil samples were taken under the
direction and supervison of a Registered Geologist and a
representative of the EHD. Laboratory analysis (Table 11) revealed
residual contamination' in the bottom samples and the two sidewall
samples from the west end of the axcavation. A Site Assessment
Report was prepared by Wm. .J. Hunter & Associates and was submitted
to the County, recommending that additional excavation work be
performed. On June 20, 1990, the Environmental health Division
responded to the report, and stated .that borings and/or monitoring
wells would be required.. After analyzingthe laboratory results, a
workplan, was submitted, (Exhibit A,) to drill 5 auger holes to a
depth of 40' ' in order to Define the limits of contamination. ' This .
report details the results of that work.
1
