Field evidence <br /> indicates that the migration in. the shallow aquifer has occurred along or just below the <br /> capillary fringe. . Contaminants were present in vadose zone soils at. PB-2 and PB-3 directly <br /> under the former tank or dispensing product lines. On the basis of previous sampling and data <br /> herein, the clayey soil under the tank and dispenser appeared to have absorbed some fuel. The <br /> most elevated TPH fuels and BTEX concentrations occurred at PB-2 and 'PB-3, roughly in the <br /> center of the site at the former tank pit and dispenser respectively. This would support a <br /> relatively slow dissolved plume easterly movement. Dissolved plume movement may also be <br /> influenced by canal leakage just to the north, where recharge under the canal may cause an <br /> easterly deflection in motion. <br /> Haley Flying Services Project No. 4111 Page 5 <br />
