EXXON RAS #7-0137 page 2
1605 S. EI Dorado
beneficial uses of the groundwater are protected have received "no further action"
letters from PHS-EHD.
As this site progresses to the post-remedial stage, PHS-EHD recommends that you
obtain some further data that will help in evaluating your site. MTBE analysis for all of
the monitoring wells should be repeated for at least two (2) consecutive quarters just
prior to and included in a Closure Report/No Further Action request.
Wells with the depth to water currently over the top of the screened interval should be
addressed. Other sites with this condition have experienced difficulty in obtaining
closure. PHS-EHD will evaluate your suggestions on how you may verify that the low
contamination levels from these wells are representative of the true aquifer conditions
and are not the results of dilution.
PHS-EHD does not consider this site to be an immediate danger to the general public
or as a continuing source of degradation to the beneficial uses of the groundwater. In
preparation for submittal of a Closure Report, please review the Appendix B of the Tri-
Regional Guidelines and ensure that you can complete the checklist listed on page 2.
Steps should be taken to modify your future plans for this site to include items that need
data to complete the checklist. This document, as well as an understanding of the
trends noted for this site, are very important in evaluating closure requests.
Thank you for your continued cooperation during this site's investigation. Please
continue to direct your correspondence to Michael Infurna and you may call him at
(209) 468-3454 should you have any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Af-`
Michael Infurna Jr., Senior REHS Margare Lagorio, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
MI/
c: EA Engineering, Science, Technology - James R.
