P
r4upaoea work Ran for 11> m of
TtvW On Site wore i id R®6a A pon
1605 SOun,EJ 00rado.SrocMtor4 CdRfomia
SITE SAFETY PLAN
A Site Safety Plan (SSP) has been prepared and will be on site during all field activities.
All on site work will be conducted in accordance with the SSP. A copy of the SSP is
included as Attachment 1. The SSP contains information on the properties of the
hazardous materials known to be on site. This information is equivalent to that contained
within the Material Safety Data Sheets.
SOIL BORING AND SAMPLING
Prior to drilling,a private line locating service may be used to identify detectable potential
drilling obstructions that may be buried at or near each of the proposed boring locations.
The borings will be drilled to depths not to exceed 10 feet below first water or 1 to 2 feet
into a zone of low-estimated permeability. Drilling into such a confining layer will be done
so as to avoid it's complete penetration, and maintain the layer's integrity. The total depth
of each boring will be determined in the field, but is estimated to be approximately 64 feet
below surface. The subsurface soils and alluvial materials will be sampled during drilling
at 5-foot intervals, and described according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
included in Attachment 2. The soil samples will be screened in the field by a portable
w. photoionization detector for possible laboratory analysis.
All drilling and soil sampling equipment will either be steam cleaned or washed prior to
first use and between borings to reduce the possibility of cross-contamination. Rinse
water will be stored temporarily in 55-gallon DOT drums, pending laboratory analysis, and
will be disposed of per regulatory requirements.
*4vzt 404
SOIL STOCKPILE SAMPLING
Soil samples will be collected as described in Attachment 2 and submitted to a state-
certified analytical laboratory. The samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline,BTEX,and total lead. Upon receipt of the laboratory analyses,
the stockpiled soil will be disposed of per regulatory requirements.
