PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> 1606 South D Dorado Strait Stockton Cahtorraa <br /> 2 O BACKGROUND <br /> 2 1 Site Description <br /> The subject site is located between South EI Dorado Street and Center Street in <br /> Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1 ) The site is situated in a <br /> commercial/residential/light industrial area of southern Stockton, bound on the north <br /> by East 2nd Street, on the east by South E1 Dorado Street, on the south by a car wash <br /> facility, and on the west by Center Street <br /> The Exxon service station is presently inactive with no operating facilities The service <br /> station formerly retailed regular-leaded, regular-unleaded, and extra-unleaded <br /> gasolrnes The site currently consists of an abandoned building and canopy <br /> Previously, the site had three single-walled steel underground storage tanks (UST) <br /> 10,000-gallon extra-unleaded, 10,000-gallon regular-unleaded, and 10,000-gallon <br /> regular-leaded gasoline tanks (Figure 2) In June 1992, the three UST were removed <br /> along with associated piping <br /> 2 2 . Previous Investigation <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling has been conducted at the site since <br /> July 1991 The last quarterly report was dated May 7, 1993, and included sampling <br /> results from March 25, 1993 <br />' Previous site investigations include the following <br /> • On February 5, 1991 , a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey was <br />' performed by NORCAL Geophysical Consultants, Inc , of Petaluma, <br /> California The survey was performed in the area of the former UST <br /> basin to locate existing underground facilities prior to drilling soil borings <br /> Upon completion of the GPR survey, two soil borings were drilled on <br /> February 22, 1991 , at an angle of 30 degrees from vertical, adjacent to <br /> and beneath the UST (Figure 2) The actual vertical depth penetrated by <br /> I the borings was approximately 53 feet bs Soil samples collected from <br /> the two borings were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), <br /> as gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), <br />' ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1 ,2-dichloroethane, and total lead <br /> Investigation results were reported by Aegis to Exxon in a "Pre-Tank <br /> Replacement Site Assessment Results Report," dated March 5, 1991 <br /> TPH and BTEX analytical results are summarized in Table 1 <br />' 91-044A PAR 3 <br />
