26 October 2015 •
AGE Project No. 14-3289
All wells proposed for destruction (VP-1 through VP-7) will be drilled-out to one foot
deeper than their original depths utilizing 8.25-inch hollow-stem augers. Well VP-1 is
installed to a depth of 10 feet below surface grade (bsg); and wells VP-2 through VP7
are installed to a depth 5 feet bsg. A licensed C-57 drilling company with a hollow-stem
drill rig equipped with 8-inch augers will be used to over-drill the vapor wells.
All original well construction materials will be removed (including well casing, screen,
filter pack, and annular sea[) to ensure that no residual contamination is sealed within
the abandoned borehole. The boreholes will be backfilled to surface grade with neat
cement and covered with concrete or native soils, depending on the surrounding
surface material. A tremie pipe is not anticipated to be utilized as no groundwater is
present and the wells are very shallow.
Soil cuttings generated during drilling activities and rinseate will be containerized in
properly labeled Department of Transportation (D.O.T.)-approved 55-gallon drums or a
soil bin and stored on-site for proper disposal.
Upon completion of field work and disposal of soil-cuttings, a well destruction report
describing well destruction activities and procedures, including documentation of waste
disposal from well destruction and other activities will be prepared and submitted to the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.
If you have any questions or require further information, please contact our office at
(209) 467-1006.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
D Fo
DiANEM N
RECKER
Jennifer Berjikian Diane Becker
Staff Geologist Senior Geologi t
California Profession c
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
