PRE- FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD and <br /> encroachment permits will be obtained through the City of Stockton . In addition , a health <br /> and safety plan will be updated in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities ( National Institute for <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Administration , U . S . Coast Guard and U . S . <br /> Environmental Protection Agency , 1985) . Prior to mobilization , each proposed boring <br /> location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground <br /> Service Alert . <br /> 2 .2 . SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT <br /> A total of three intermediate soil borings ( 139 , B10 and B11 ) will be advanced east and <br /> downgradient of the site utilizing a truck or track mounted drilling rid_ equipped with 8� <br /> inch hollow stem_ augersfFiaure 3) . The soil borings will be advanced to minimum depth <br /> of 80 feet below surface grade for soil sample collection . <br /> Soil samples will be collected from the boring at five-foot intervals between 5 and 80 <br /> feet bsg . However, field personnel may adjust the frequency and method of sampling in <br /> consultation with an AGE Professional Geologist. <br /> A grab groundwater sample will be collected from approximately 50 feet bsg (coarse <br /> grained sediment) and at the base of eacli'lihe borings to evaluate vertical migration of <br /> the hydrocarbon plume . Procedures for advancement of soil borings and sampling are <br /> presented in Section 3 . 0 . Groundwater samples will be analyzed by a State of California <br /> Department of Public Health (CDPH )-certified laboratory for the following constituents: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH -g ) in accordance with <br /> EPA Method 8015 Modified ; and <br /> • Benzene , toluene , ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX constituents) and fuel <br /> additives tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) , di-isopropyl ether ( DIPE) , methyl-tertiary- <br /> butyl ether (MTBE) , ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) , tertiary amyl methyl ether <br /> (TAME) , ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1 , 2-dichloroethane ( 1 , 2- DCA) by EPA <br /> J Method 8260B . <br /> Laboratory reports for groundwater analysis , testing methods and laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) , and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> - presented in a report with findings and recommendations . <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc. <br />
