29 September 2003
• AGE-NC Protect No 99-0654 _
• TPH-g and MTBE were detected in all grab ground water samples at maximum
concentrations of 110,000 gg/1(B-1)and 45,000µg11(B-4),respectively,BTEX compounds
were detected in ground water samples B-1 through B-3 at a maximum concentration of
26,000 pg/l (toluene in B-1), and 1,2-DCA was detected in sample B-1 at 2,600µg/1
• BTEX compounds,MTBE and 1,2-DCA are all present at concentrations significantly above
the California maximum contaminant levels for these contaminants
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
' • Performance of additional soil and ground water assessment to delineate the vertical and
lateral extent of petroleum-hydrocarbon Impact
• Installation of monitoring wells to delineate the extent of contaminated ground water and
monitor ground water flow rate, flow direction, and contaminant concentrations
• Performance of a well receptor survey to determine If local domestic water wells may be at
risk from the dissolved petroleum-hydrocarbon plume at the site
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation were made from
a limited number of available data points (i a soil and ground water samples), and subsurface
' conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made
as to the professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
