INTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of Mr Zeb Kahn,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE)has prepared the enclosed <br /> Preliminary Site Assessment Report for the property located at 1901 South El Dorado Avenue, <br /> Stockton, California The scope of work included advancement of four soil probe borings and <br /> preparation of this report The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 and a site plan is provided <br /> on Figure 2 <br />' This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the subsurface investigation of <br /> underground storage tank(UST) sites Site background information is provided in Appendix A <br /> 2.0 PROCEDURES <br /> Field work was conducted in accordance with guidelines established by the CVRWQCB for the <br /> • investigation of UST sites and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) <br /> for sampling of ground water monitoring wells Soil boring installation and sampling procedures for <br /> the site were outlined in Site Assessment Work Plan dated 15 December 2000,prepared by AGE and <br /> approved by the EHD by letter dated 29 December 2002 <br /> 1 <br /> 21 ADVANCEMENT OF SOIL PROBE BORING <br /> On 05 and 06 August 2003, four soil probe borings(B 1 through B4)were advanced to a total depth <br />' of 50 feet below surface grade(bsg)utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit <br /> equipped with 1 25-inch diameter probing rods, the probing unit advances soil probe borings using <br /> a hydraulic hammer to drive soil and ground water sampling tools to specified depths Two borings <br />' were advanced east and west, respectively, of the former UST excavation, the third boring was <br /> advanced north of the former UST excavation,the fourth boring was advanced east of the dispenser <br /> islands (Figure 2) <br /> 22 SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br />' Discrete soil samples were collected using the Geoprobe push-driven 2-inch diameter soil sampler <br /> fitted with four six-inch long brass sleeves at 5-foot intervals,beginning at 10 feet bsg Soil samples <br /> were collected to a depth of 50 feet bsg in all borings <br />' Advanced GeoEnvnronmental,Inc <br />
