recommended well construction, well development and sampling protocols will be presented in a
final workplan. At each boring location, soil and groundwater samples will be collected in
laboratory provided sample containers to allow for the following laboratory analyses:
EPA Method 8260b-VOCs, TPH as Gasoline, 7 fuel additives and lead scavengers
EPA Method 8270- Semi Volatile Organic Compounds
EPA Method 8015M-TPH as Diesel and Motor Oil
EPA Method 6010- LUFT 5 Metals (Cadmium, Chromium,Nickel, Lead, Zinc)
Groundwater sample analyses for subsequent quarterly monitoring program may be modified
based on these initial analytical results.
7.1 WELLHEAD ELEVATIONSUR VEY
Well head elevations for monitoring wells installed as described in this workplan will be
surveyed by a California-licensed land surveyor for horizontal and vertical coordinates accurate
to within 0.01 foot relative to mean sea level. The elevations and spatial coordinates thus
obtained will be used to calculate groundwater elevations and flow direction from depths to
water measured in the wells.
7.2 INVESTIGATIONDERIVED WASTE
All non-disposable down-hole drilling and sampling equipment will be decontaminated prior to
use and between uses in each boring to minimize the potential for cross-contamination.
Decontamination will consist of washing with a high-pressure hot water wash or washing in a
laboratory grade soap solution and double rinsing with deionized water. All drill cuttings, wash
water, decontamination rinsate, well development purge water, and other investigation derived
waste will be placed in 55-gallon DOT approved drums or other appropriate containers and
labeled in accordance with regulatory requirements pending receipt of laboratory analytical
results and subsequent disposal at an appropriately licensed facility.
7.3 INTERIMRFMEDIAL ACTIONREPORTING
ROKEN will prepare a report within 30 days following completion of the workplan tasks and
receipt of sampling results. The report will present background, methods, data results, summary
of findings, with supporting documentation including soil disposal weight tickets and manifests,
laboratory analytical reports and site maps. The report will be prepared and signed by a
California Registered Geologist or Professional Engineer and will include notifications of any
deviations from this workplan.
In anticipation of regulatory requirements, the monitoring wells will be sampled on a quarterly
basis and a letter report will be prepared presenting the results for quarterly monitoring.
13
