J 14 October 2014
AGE Project No , 11 - 1847
The proposed soil boring and monitoring well locations are illustrated in Figure 3 . ' ~
Selected soil samples from the deep soil borings will be analyzed by a State of
California Department of Public Health (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following
constituents :
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH -g and
TPH-d , respectively) in accordance with EPA Method 8015M ; and
• Benzene , toluene , ethylbenzene , and total xylenes ( BTEX) , naphthalene, fuel 1
additives di-isopropyl ether (DIPE) , tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) , and 1 , 2-
dichloroethane ( 1 , 2- DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B .
q1 ? 4
Laboratory reports of soil analysis , testing methods , laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) reports , and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented
I
n a report of findings and recommendations .
t:
-1 2 . 3 . MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION , DEVELOPMENT, AND SURVEY
Adjacent to each deep off-site soil boring , a second pilot soil boring will be advanced
and single-completed as shallow groundwater monitoring wells . The proposed
monitoring wells will be screened at depths of approximately 20 feet to 40 feet bsg .
Depth of the screened interval may vary or be reduced overall according to
hydrogeologic conditions encountered while drilling . Following installation , each well will
_i be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment
drawn into the well during pumping or bailing . The top of each newly installed well
casing (well head) will be surveyed to determine its elevation relative to North American
Vertical Datum 88 . An as built diagram of the proposed construction of the proposed
wells has been included as Figure 4 .
2 .4 . GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
I
Following the installation of the new monitoring wells , groundwater monitoring and
sampling activities will be conducted at the wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of
one year (four sampling events) ; monitoring activities will include recording depth to
- groundwater measurements and collection of groundwater samples for laboratory
analysis by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the analytes noted in Section 2 . 2 .
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
