14 October 2014
AGE Project No , 11 - 1847
Page 2 of 6
• Monitoring well installation and development;
- Laboratory analysis of soil samples ;
• Quarterly groundwater sampling and analysis ; and
• Preparation of a report of findings .
I_
2 . 1 . PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD , and
encroachment permits will be obtained from the City of Stockton Public Works
Department. In addition , an update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be
prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for
Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Administration , U . S . Coast Guard and U . S . Environmental Protection Agency , 1985) .
Prior to mobilization , each proposed boring/well locations will be clearly marked and a
utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert,
2 .2 . DRILLING AND SAMPLE ANALYSIS
r ,
AGE proposes to advance four off-site soil borings to depths of approximately 90 feet
bsg for the purpose of logging lithology and for collection of deep grab groundwater
samples . Thereafter, adjacent pilot soil borings will be advanced to depths of 40 feet
bsg for the installation of off-site shallow groundwater monitoring wells . Soil borings will
be advanced using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8 . 25-inch hollow-stem
augers . The total depth of each well boring may vary according to
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions encountered during drilling . Relative to the property
boundary line , locations of the off-site groundwater monitoring wells are as follows :
• One soil boring and one monitoring well will be advanced approximately 175 feet
west of the site in the City right-of-way (West 8th Street) to evaluate the west-
southwest extent of the hydrocarbon plume ;
• One soil boring and one monitoring well will be advanced approximately 150 feet
south of the site in the McKinley Park asphalt parking lot to evaluate the south-
southwest extent of the hydrocarbon plume ;
• One soil boring and one monitoring well will be advanced approximately 220 feet
southeast of the site at McKinley Park to evaluate the southeast-east extent of
the hydrocarbon plume ; and
• One soil boring and one monitoring well will be advanced approximately 450 feet
northeast of the site in the City right-of-way (San Joaquin Street) to evaluate the
east-northeast extent of the hydrocarbon plume .
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
