10 September 2012
AGE Project No , 11 - 1847
Page 3 of 9
Based upon results of the initial investigation , additional borings may be advanced and
sampled :
• One boring will be advanced at the southern edge of the property to evaluate the
potential upgradient lateral limits of adsorbed and dissolved hydrocarbon impact.
• One boring will be advanced to the northeast of the former tank pit area to assess
the potential downgradient lateral limits of adsorbed and dissolved impact.
• One boring will be advanced northwest of the former tank excavation area to assess
the potential downgradient/cross gradient lateral limits of adsorbed and dissolved
hydrocarbon impact.
Soil borings will be advanced to depths between 30 and 50 feet bsg or first-encountered
groundwater; borings may be advanced to greater depths if contamination is encountered .
Generally, soil samples will be collected from each boring at five-foot intervals. However,
field personnel may adust the frequency and method of sampling in consultation with an
AGE Professional Geologist.
Grab groundwater samples will be collected from each soil boring during the initial phase
of sampling . Grab groundwater will be collected from selected subsequent borings.
Procedures for advancement of soil borings and sampling are presented in Section 3. 0 ,
2 . 3 . LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Selected soil samples and grab groundwater samples will be analyzed by a California
Department of Public Health (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents :
i
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g ) in accordance with
t EPA Method 8015 Modified ;
i
• Benzene , toluene , ethyl-benzene and total xylenes (BTEX) , di-isopropyl ether
(DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE ), methyl-tert-butyl-ether (MTBE) , tertiary-
l amyl methyl ether (TAME ) , tertiary butanol (TBA) , ethylene dibromide ( EDB) and
I 1 , 2-dichloroethane by EPA method 826013 ;
i
• Total lead in accordance with EPA Method 60108 .
Laboratory reports for soil sample and water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports , and sample chain-of-custody documentation
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
I
