10 September 2012
AGE Project No , 11 - 1847
will be presented in a reportwith the findings and recommendations. Electronic deliverable
format (EDF) files of the laboratory analytical results will be submitted to the State of
California GeoTracker database .
2 .4 . MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
After the initial phases of investigation , the installation of monitoring wells are proposed .
Pilot borings for wells will be drilled and advanced to approximately 40 feet bsg utilizing a
truck-mounted , hollow-stem drill rig equipped with 8 .25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers .
Total depths of borings will vary according to hydrogeologic conditions encountered during
drilling .
The specific number and proposed locations for wells will be identified in an Addendum
submitted to the SJCEHD for approval after the initial phases of investigation have been
completed . Procedures for well installation and completion are presented in Sections 3 .2 ,
and 3 . 3 .
2 .4 . 1 , Soil Sample Collection and Analysis
During well installations , we anticipate collection of soil samples from within the 8 .25-inch
hollow-stem augers at 5-foot intervals. Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a CDPH-
certified laboratory for contaminants listed in Section 2 . 3 . Laboratory reports of soil
analyses , testing methods, laboratory QA/QC reports , and sample chain of custody
documentation will be presented in a report.
2 .4 .2 . Well Development and Survey
Following installation , each well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the
amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing . After
development, elevation and location of all wells will be surveyed by a professional
surveyor. Procedures for development and survey are presented in Section 3 .4,
2 .4 .3, Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Following installation, groundwater monitoring and sampling activities will be conducted for
all monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one year (four sampling events).
Monitoring activities will include recording depth to groundwater measurements and
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
