10 September 2012
AGE Project No , 11 - 1847
collection of groundwater samples for laboratory analysis by a CDPH-certified laboratory
for contaminants listed in Section 2 . 3 . Groundwater sample collection protocols are
described in Section 3 . 5 ,
2 .5 , REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of initial field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis , a report will be
prepared presenting findings of the investigation ; if the contingent borings are deemed
necessary an addendum will be prepared outlining the second phase of the work to be
performed . Additionally, following each quarterly monitoring event, a quarterly groundwater
monitoring report will be prepared presenting findings . All reports will include descriptions
of work performed and results of sampling and analysis. Also , conclusions and applicable
recommendations will be included in the reports . Reports will be in a format acceptable to
the CVRWQCB , and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
3.0 . FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative working under the
supervision of a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for advancing soil probe
borings , collection and analysis of soil and groundwater samples, monitoring well
completion , equipment decontamination and sample handling are presented below.
3 . 1 . PROBE SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT
Soil borings SB1 through SB4 and contingent borings SB-5 through SB-7 will be advanced
using a truck mounted AMS Powerprobe direct-push probing unit equipped with 1 .25-inch
probing rods . The Powerprobe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic hammer to
drive soil and groundwater sampling tools to specified depths.
3 . 1 . 1 . Soil Sampling
Soil samples will be collected from borings SB1 through SB7 at discreet five-foot intervals
beginning at five (5) feet bsg using a 1 . 25 inch Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded
with a two-foot acetate liner. Upon sample retrieval , a selected portion of the liner will be
cut and covered with Teflon sheets , capped and sealed with tape.
Advanced GcoEnviron mental, Inc.
