CIeologica!reclutics Inc.
Valentine Property
Project No.:723.2
Well Destruction Work Plan
December 10,2012
• A neat cement grout (containing less than 4% bentonite) will be pumped under pressure
through a tremie pipe to the bottom of the well. In this manner, the grout will displace
the water in the well ensuring that it is completely filled with grout.
• After the grout has been filled to the top of the well, a pressure cap will be fitted to the
casing and the well pressurized to 25 psi. If the grout settles, additional grout will be
pumped into the well casing..This will force the cement into the filter pack.
• The amount of cement grout volume needed to fill the well and the horizontal piping has
been calculated (attached tables) and the amount utilized will be tracked to judge the
effectiveness of the process.
• After the grout has been installed, the top of casing of the three monitoring wells will be
drilled out to a depth of 5 ft below grade and the holes will be filled with clean dirt and
capped with asphalt or concrete in the upper 8 inches below grade for wells in asphalted
or concrete areas (respectively). The other 12 various wells will be drilled out.
Remedial Equipment Removal
Prior to well destruction, Geological Technics Inc. will remove of all remediation equipment
and security fencing.
Schedule &Reporting
Our goal is to complete the well abandonment work by mid February 2013, contingent upon
Work Plan approval.
The information gathered during this phase of work will be presented in a report, which will
include a discussion of well destruction efficiency (grout volume utilized versus calculated
expectations).
The project will be supervised by Dr. Ray Kablanow, the registered professional geologist
responsible for the work. Copies of the reports will be forwarded to both the appropriate
County and State regulatory agencies.
If you should have any questions please do not hesitate to call.
Respectfully Submitted,
5\pNAL Folo
G RAYNOLD t.
KABLANOW N—+
Raynold I.
