El Dorado Street;Stockton,CA
Dear Mr.Valentine:
As requested in a December 5,'2012 email from Mr. Harlin Knoll of San Joaquin County 3
Environmental Health Department, enclosed is a work plan for destruction of the monitoring
wells at the site as noted above. Prior to the site receiving regulatory agency closure, all of
the wells installed at the site will have to be destroyed in accordance with the California Well 4
Standards.
We have prepared the work plan below for the abandonment (destruction) of eight
monitoring wells, three CMT multi-chamber monitoring wells, two vapor extraction wells
(VEW) and two extraction wells (EW)to start the site closure process. (See Figure 2 for well _
locations).
Well Abandonment
The wells proposed for destruction are listed in the attached tables along with the relevant
grout volume calculations for the well casing plus filter pack and horizontal piping. The
wells will be destroyed by either complete drill out or for a few of them we will use pressure
grouting methods. Refer to Figure 2 for well locations.
A traffic Control plan will be presented during the permitting process. This plan will be
implemented prior to commencement of well closure activities.
Well drill out will be conducted using V&W's BK-81 drill rig, using a stinger mounted to the
bottom of the hollow stem user drill rods. -V&W'has developed a successful drill out method
that we will use on the three CMT wells(CMT77, -8 & -9).
The pressure grouting process will be conducted as follows:
//
