EL DORADO ST. , STOCKTON CA
SITE CODE 2080
Prepared by
1 Wm. J_ Hunter & Associates
October, 1994
PURPOSE OF WORK:
In October, 1993, four (4) soil borings were placed on the
property to evaluate minor soil contamination encountered during
removal of a 150 gallon waste oil tank in 1987 Three of the
borings were taken to the programmed depth of 30' , laboratory
' results of those soil samples were below detection limits for
BTEX & TPH. The fourth soil boring, SB-2, was taken to 36' after
detecting a slight petroleum odor in drill cuttings at 31' .
Laboratory results revealed minor amounts of BTEX & TPH as
' gasoline in the soil sample at 36' _
In July, 1994, Mr. Stephen Valentine, the owner of the property,
and Wm. Hunter, RG, met with San Joaquin County EHD staff to
discuss what additional work would be required to obtain site
closure. It was agreed that one (1 ) soil boring in the center of
' the site of the removed waste oil tank should be sufficient to
define the vertical extent of residual contamination caused by
that UST_
' On August 17, 1994, a workplan was prepared by Wm_ J. Hunter &
Associates, (WJH, ) to accomplish that task. Refer to EXHIBIT B
for a copy of that document. During that work, which was con-
ducted on September 30, 1994, strong evidence of petroleum was
encountered at 36' bgl, and also at 40' bgl. Because the odor was
still present at the programmed depth of 40' , it was decided to
continue work in order to determine the vertical extent of the
contamination. Soil samples taken at 5' intervals continued to
indicate the presence of petroleum substances down to 60' , where
groundwater was encountered. After discussions with the County
' staff , the owner, & WJH, it was agreed that the soil boring
should be converted to a groundwater monitoring well. This
report covers the results of that activity.
iPROPERTY LOCATION:
' 2315 No. El Dorado Avenue, Stockton, CA
PROPERTY OWNER:
Stephen Valentine, 6232 Hemet Ave. , Stockton, CA 95207
' 1
