Mobilize a properly licensed auger rig equipped with <br /> sufficient clean flights for completing each soil boring without <br /> . the necessity of decontaminating flights <br /> ��C,1The four are Shown <br /> 4) auger <br /> hole locations, identified as Af' g , <br /> on PLATE I <br /> 2 soil samples will be taken at 5 ' intervals as follows <br /> a) Auger hole "A" - from 25 ' bgl to the capillary fringe <br /> b) Auger hole "B" - from 10 ' bgl to the capillary fringe <br /> c) Auger hole "C" - from 15 ' bgl to the capillary fringe . <br /> d) Auger hole "D" - from 15 ' bgl to the capillary fringe <br /> Sampling equipment will consist of a modified California Split <br /> Spoon sampler, (or similar equipment, ) designed to hold <br /> sufficient clean metal sleeves to allow retrieval of discrete <br /> soil samples for screening, identification of lithology, and <br /> preservation for laboratory analysis <br /> 3 . Field procedures will follow these general guidelines - <br /> a) sufficient material from one metal sleeve will be placed in <br /> a plastic bag, labeled, & set aside to allow any petroleum <br /> components to volatize . The sample will then be screened by <br /> placing the probe of a properly field calibrated PID meter into <br /> the bag & noting and recording any readings . <br /> b) One sleeve will be promptly sealed by covering the ends <br /> with teflon tape & plastic caps, and thoroughly sealing with duct <br /> tape The sleeve will be clearly labeled and placed on ice <br /> ipending transport to a State Certified laboratory for analysis <br /> 5 <br />
