1
The preserved soil samples were transported under chain of
' custody to FGL laboratory with instructions to analyze for BTEX
(EPA 8020, ) & TPHg (EPA 8015M ) Selected samples were to be
analyzed for MTBE . Copies of the custody chains and laboratory
analyses are included as EXHIBIT B, the results are summarized on
' TABLE XIII
The three new wells were developed using San Joaquin County EHD
requirements, and on July 1 , 1996, Del-Tech Geotechnical Support
Services measured water levels, purged & sampled all 6 monitoring
wells under the direction of the County EHD Water samples were
' delivered to FGL laboratory under chain of custody with instruc-
tions to analyze for BTEX & TPHg, MBTE was to be confirmed if
requested by WJH Purge water was contained in sealed drums and
stored on site . A copy of the field report is included as
' EXHIBIT C. Copies of the laboratory results of the analyses &
custody chain is included as EXHIBIT D.
Drill cuttings from prior work, which had been stored on site in
sealed drums, were transported by Del-Tech to Forward Inc for
disposal . Copies of that documentation is included as EXHIBIT E
The elevations of the casings of the three new wells were deter-
mined by a licensed surveyor, refer to EXHIBIT F for details
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS OF LATEST WORK:
The results of laboratory analyses of soil samples, summarized
' on TABLE XIII, reveal the following
MW-4 - The sample at 36 ' was ND; the one at 41 ' showed 11 mg/L of
TPHg, BTEX was ND; and the sample at 45 , revealed 0 . 14 mg/kg of
' benzene, 2 . 1 mg/kg of xylene, & 1400 mg/L of TPHg; other com-
pounds were ND. PLATE V gives details of lithology, blow counts,
PID readings, & other data
MW-5 - Samples at 26 ' & 31 , were ND, the sample at 36 , was ND for
BTEX, and TPHg wa 700 mg/L, the sample at 41 ' revealed 0 86 mg/kg
of benzene, 0 53 mg/kg of ethylbenzene, 0 54 mg/kg of toluene, ND
for xylene, and 170 mg/L for THPg, the sample at 46 ' showed 0 33
mg/kg of benzene, 0 10 mg/kg of ethylbenzene, 0 . 05 mg/kg of
toluene, ND for xylene, and 120 mg/L of TPHg. Lithology, blow
counts, PID readings, & other details are shown on PLATE VI
MW-6 - The sample at 31 ' was ND for BTEX, but TPHg measured 58
I mg/L, the sample at 36 ' was also ND for BTEX, with TPHg of 5 . 0
mg/L, the sample at 41 ' showed 2 8 mg/kg of benzene, 0 45 mg/kg
of ethylbenzene, 0 29 mg/kg of toluene, 19 . 0 mg/kg of xylene, and
7
