1
obtaining a water sample using a hydropunch or similar tool .
Both soil and water samples were to be analyzed for BTEX & TPHg
' A copy of that workplan is included as EXHIBIT B.
After discussions with Steve Sasson, Sr REHS, of the San Joaquin
' County EHD, it was decided to expand the scope of the work to
include three (3) additional soil borings placed at the north-
west, southwest, and southeast corners of the property Based
upon results of soil & groundwater analyses, one or more of the
soil borings may be converted to groundwater monitoring wells . A
revised workplan to accomplish that work follows :
' PROPOSED WORKPLAN ADDENDUM:
' All work will be under the direct supervision of a geologist from
Wm J. Hunter & Associates . Necessary drilling permit applica-
tions & fees will be submitted to the County EHD prior to
' beginning work
1 . Mobilize a properly licensed auger rig equipped with
sufficient clean flights for completing each soil boring without
the necessity of decontaminating flights . The four (4) auger
hole locations, identified as "A" , "B" , "C" , & "D" , are shown
on PLATE I
' 2 Soil samples will be taken at 5 ' intervals as follows
a) Auger hole "A" - from 25 ' bgl to the capillary fringe
b) Auger hole "B" - from 10 ' bgl to the capillary fringe .
' c) Auger hole "C" - from 15 ' bgl to the capillary fringe .
d) Auger hole "D" - from 15 ' bgl to the capillary fringe
1 Sampling equipment will consist of a modified California Split
Spoon sampler, (or similar equipment, ) designed to hold
suffacient clean metal sleeves to allow retrieval of discrete
soil samples for screening, identification of lithology, and
' preservation for laboratory analysis
3 Field procedures will follow these general guidelines -
a) sufficient material from one metal sleeve will be placed in
a plastic bag, labeled, & set aside to allow any petroleum
components to volatize. The sample will then be screened by
' placing the probe of a properly field calibrated PID meter into
the bag & noting and recording any readings
b) One sleeve will be promptly sealed by covering the ends
with teflon tape & plastic caps, and thoroughly sealing with duct
tape The sleeve will be clearly labeled and placed on ice
pending transport to a State Certified laboratory for analysis
5
