I I <br /> r08 April 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project 02-0946 <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br /> r <br /> 3 6 , QUARTERLY WELL MONITORING PROCEDURES <br /> rQuarterly ground water monitoring was performed on monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 on <br /> 27 February 2003 ' <br /> r <br /> r3 6 1 Well Evacuation and Monitoring <br /> A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in monitoring wells <br /> MW-1 through MW-3 relative to the tops of the well casings (well heads) After water levels were <br /> rgauged, a Watera internal pump was used to evacuate (purge) each well of a minimum of three <br /> casing-water volumes(approximately 6 gallons)of water Temperature,pH,and conductivity were <br /> r measured at regular intervals using an Oakton water analyzer The field data sheets are included in <br /> Appendix C Purged water was stored on site in 55-gallon drums <br /> r3 6 2 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br /> • After allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80% recovery of the pre-purge volume, water <br /> samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1,MW-2,and MW-3 using the Watera internal <br /> pump The samples were transferred into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials <br /> r containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle <br /> without a sample preservative The sample containers were then labeled with well designation,date, <br /> time of sampling and the sampler's initials The samples were transported in a chilled container <br /> runder chain-of-custody to CTEL, a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified <br />■ laboratory, for analysis The samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-d, in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, and <br /> • BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8021B <br /> 3 7 WELL HEAD SURVEY <br /> On 31 March 2003, AGE personnel surveyed the elevation at the top of ground water monitoring <br /> wells MW-1 and MW-2 relative to monitoring well MW-3,which was assigned a relative evaluation <br /> of 0 00 ft (Mean Sea Level) The results of the monitoring well survey are contained in Table 2 <br /> r <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvirewnentat,Inc <br />
