_ U
Bulk Transportation Page 5
Site Conceptual Model &Closure Report
GPE Project No. 606.3
August 28, 2009
August 2003
The above mentioned work plan was followed up by a report documenting the
completion of the planed work, entitled Report ='-.Additional Excavation and
Colz zrmation Soil Sainplb?10, Former Underground Storage Tank Site
April 2007
NRC Environmental Services sampled the stockpile to determine whether the
diesel-impacted soil had been adequately remediated to.allow on-site disposal.
L The work was documented in a letter entitled Letter Report: Results if Soil
Stockpile Sampling-.
July 2009
The spoil material was re-sampled and did not contain detectable diesel
hydrocarbons.
2.3 Site Status
The extent of the diesel release has been fully characterized and mitigated.
The mitigation was achieved by excavating the impacted material.
The excavated soil contained moderate concentrations of diesel-range
hydrocarbons. The material was placed in a "bio cell" about 160 feet by.26 feet
and about 4 inches thick.
The recent composite soil samples collected from the cell (see Section 3.0 for
details) did not contain detectable diesel hydrocarbons; and the soil appears to
r have been adequately remediated by natural attenuation in.the cell.
i
i -
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
