i
up to the surface with tremmied cement/bentonite grout. A locking top cap and a flush-
mounted watertight well cover will be installed .
The well will be developed by swabbing and bailing water into a DOT 17H drum until the
water appears to be reasonably clear with a minimum of ten (10) well volumes removed .
The groundwater will then be checked for sheen and free product prior to purging and
sampling.
I _
Prior to obtaining water samples from the monitoring wells, no less than five (5) well
volumes of water will be bailed from the well. Samples will be obtained in a precleaned
bailer, secured in 40 mL volatile organic analysis vials, placed in a cooler with wet ice and
delivered to a State certified laboratory with a chain of custody documents.
Boring B-5 will be back filled with neat cement applied by standard procedures and used by
experienced drilling contractors. All operations will be supervised by a registered geologist
or civil engineer.
8.0 LABORATORY ANALYSIS
All soil samples will be extracted using EPA method 5030. After extraction, the soil and
water samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel, oil and gasoline
(TPHg, TPHd and TPHo) by EPA Method 8015. The groundwater samples will also be
analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method
8020 , and Methyl tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE), Tertiary Butyl Alcohol (TBA) , Di-isopropyl Ether
(DIPE), Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (ETBE) and Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether (TAME) by EPA
Method 8260. The soil samples will be analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and
20 and Methyl tert-Bu I Ether MTBE b EPA
total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 80 y ty (MTBE) y
Method 8260.
9.0 REPORT PREPARATION
A comprehensive report covering the work completed , including findings of the investigation
and all analytical results, will be prepared for submittal to the San Joaquin County Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division. The information will also be available for
Environeering, Inc. Project No. W012.01 9
