Site Health and Safety Plan
California Tank Lines Facility
--'ll Sierra-Parc Project No. 96-620.01
contractor health and safety regulations, and safety requirements must be complied with by
project personnel. Personnel assigned to this project area also responsible for:
! J • Taking all reasonable precautions to prevent injury to themselves and to their
fellow employees;
® Performing only those tasks which they trained to perform; and
• Notifying the SSO of any special medical problems (i. e., allergies) and ensuring
that all on-site personnel are aware of any such problems.
i
All personnel will be advised on site to exercise common sense and good judgement in their
approach to their work. Workers will also be told to notify a supervisor or the SSO of any
i
J observed unsafe condition. The H&SP outlined rules, guidelines, and recommended work
- practices. Each worker will be directed to read and follow those guidelines.
Workers and visitors will be denied access to work areas where entry may pose unacceptable
health risks. Immediate evacuation of the work area could be ordered, should working
conditions be determined to be questionable and potentially dangerous.
At each of the sites, a relatively clean support area will be maintained for rest breaks, safety
meetings, paper work, and resupply. Safety briefings and informal discussions will take place
1 at the beginning of each work day and as situations warrant. The meetings will be initiated by
-J
the SSO or Project Manager in response to potential health and safety risks for the work to be
performed on that day or to some new work situation. Workers will be encouraged to make
L 1 suggestions on how to operate more effectively and safely. The support area will also be
i . , designated to serve as an evacuation staging area.
SierramPacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 7
