Visitors shall abide by the requirements specified in this <br /> H&SP and, when possible, shall be restricted from areas of potential exposure to <br /> hazardous substances. <br /> • Establish an area in the support zone upwind of the work zone for personnel to <br /> assemble in the event of an excavation of the work zone. <br /> • Monitor operations for the existence of hazardous conditions. Monitor personnel <br /> for signs of exposure, heat stress, fatigue, etc. <br /> • Evaluate the results of the monitoring program and determine impacts on future <br /> operations. <br /> • Ensure that environmental and personnel monitoring operations are ongoing and <br /> in accordance with technical specifications, procedures, and project instructions. <br /> • Monitor site conditions during operations to determine whether any changes in <br /> work zones or personnel protection are required. <br /> • Ensure that proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and worn <br /> by workers. Ensure that PPE and other equipment is maintained and properly <br /> stored. <br /> • Ensure that work areas are kept clean in order to reduce the potential for general <br /> safety hazards. <br /> • Know emergency procedures and contacts. <br /> • Conduct work site safety briefings including: contents of this H&SP, safe work <br /> practices, PPE use, and emergency procedures. <br /> 4.3 All On-Site Personnel <br /> All personnel assigned to this project are responsible for following this H&SP, for using safe <br /> work practices, and for wearing the PPE specified by the SSO.
