Genetti CPA, CFO <br /> Post Office Box 6632 <br /> Stockton, California 95206 <br /> Subject: California Tank Lines, Inc. <br /> 3105 South EI Dorado Street <br /> Stockton, California 95206 <br /> Dear Mr. Genetti: <br /> The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received and reviewed <br /> Site Assessment Work Plan (Work Plan) dated 10 October 2014, prepared and submitted by <br /> your consulting firm, Donan Environmental Services, Inc. (DES) on your behalf for the above- <br /> referenced site. By letter dated 9 September 2014, the EHD had directed the submittal of a <br /> work plan to install additional wells to delineate the horizontal extent of the petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater plume down-gradient (northeast) of the two former <br /> underground storage tank (UST) areas. <br /> In the Work Plan DES proposes: <br /> • Advancement of two borings using ten-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers in the right-of- <br /> way on the west side of South EI Dorado Street and one boring using eight-inch- <br /> diameter hollow-stem augers in the right-of-way on the east side of South EI Dorado <br /> Street and conversion of the borings into monitoring wells DW-6, DW-7 and DW-8 by a <br /> drilling company with an active California C-57 contractor's license at locations illustrated <br /> on Figure 16 of the Work Plan; <br /> • Utility clearance by Underground Service Alert and a private utility service company prior <br /> to advancement of the three borings and "air-knifing" with vacuum application while <br /> installing the three wells; <br /> • Collection of soil samples at five-foot intervals, from five feet below surface grade (bsg) <br /> to fifteen feet bsg and continuous core samples from approximately twenty to thirty-five <br /> feet bsg for lithologic evaluation. <br /> • Field inspection of collected soil samples for the presence of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> staining and volatile organic compound odors using an organic vapor meter, and <br /> chemical analysis of selected soil samples; <br /> • Selection and preservation of up to five soil samples from the continuous core for <br /> chemical analysis by a California State-certified laboratory with a total of approximately <br /> eight soil samples from each boring; <br />
