A minimum of 48 hours notice will be given to the SJCEHD prior to performing
any field work.
j 3 . 2 . DRILLING ACTIVITIES
I
The following procedures will be performed prior to any digging/drilling activities:
• Prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety
and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health , Occupational Safety and
Health Administration , U . S . Coast Guard and U . S . Environmental Protection
Agency, October 1985.
• Notify the SJCEHD a minimum oqf 48 hours prior to commencement of any work,
while securing proper San Joagd n- County drilling and/or well permits.
• All drilling locations will be marked at least 48 hours in advance for an Underground
Service Alert (USA) check of underground utilities or pipes.
3 . 2 . 1 . Drilling And Soil Sample Collection
The proposed DPE wells will be advanced to approximately 40 feet bsg , which should be
adequate to remove the major portion of the shallow zone of dissolved and shallow to 30
feet deep adsorbed phase hydrocarbons surrounding their respective locations . Both wells
will be advanced utilizing a truck-mou em drill rig (CME-75 or equivalent)
equipped with 8 .25-inch (sampling) and 0-inch diameter stallation ) hollow-stem augers .
Total depths of borings may vary according to sl
e i ions encountered during drilling .
—Proposed_welLlo-cations_ar-e_depicted_in Figure 9!
Soil cuttings and rinseate will be placed in Department of Transportation-approved
55-gallon drums and stored onsite . Disposal of rinseate and soil will be selected based on
results of a laboratory analysis .
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at 10 feet bsg to the total
depth of the pilot borings to evaluate lithology within the proposed screening interval .
Selected soil samples will be analyzed bya State of California Department of Public Health
(CDPH )-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d ,
Advanced GCoEnVIronmental, Inc.
