i
16 August 2011
AGE-NC Project No . 97-0301
1 ,2-DCA) to monitor hydrocarbon destruction efficiency; during this time , DPE operational
parameters including depth to water measurements , soil-vapor concentrations , DPE flow,
DPE vacuum and DPE total gallons (totalizer) will be monitored on a daily basis to gauge
the optimal DPE performance and optimal destruction rate of recovered hydrocarbon
vapors . Following the DPE start-up period , influent and effluent DPE samples will be
collected on a monthly basis and the DPE operational parameters will be monitored on a
weekly basis (at a minimum) to monitor cleanup progress .
2 . 9 . REPORT PREPARATION
Following the above referenced field activities (i . e, monitoring well installations , ground
water monitoring event, dual phase extraction remediation system installation) , a reportwill
be prepared detailing the procedures and findings. The report will include a description of
work performed and the results of the soil and groundwater sampling and analysis;
conclusions and recommendations will also be included , if applicable . The report will be
in a format acceptable to the EHD , and will be reviewed and signed by a California
Professional Geologist.
3 .0 . FIELD PROCEDURES
The DPE remediation system will be located in the southwest corner of the site near well
MW-4 (Figure 3), which will allow the current tenants at the site to conduct their day to day
business with minimum interference from the operation of the remediation system . The
entire DPE remediation system will be secured by a chain-linked , gated enclosure
approximately 15 feet wide , 25 feet long and seven feet high . Electricity is readily available
to the site and a dedicated electrical meter will be installed by representatives of Pacific
Gas and Electrical ( PG&E) that will connect and power the DPE system .
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of
a California Professional Geologist . Procedures for well installation , development,
remediat7on weldmonitoring , well nstallation , DPE—installation;underground-piping -
installation , start-up period , DPE operation and maintenance procedures are described
below.
3 . 1 . PERMITTING
An application for a site-specific permit will be submitted to the San Joaquin Valley Air
Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) prior to initiation of the remediation project . In
' addition , proper permits will be obtained from the Cityof Stockton Municipal Utilities District
that meets all waste discharge requirements into the sanitary sewer and for all necessary
i
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
