16 August 2011
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0301
Upon grout completion , a 24-inch , flush mount, traffic rated , steel well box will be installed
over the well casings and secured with a bolted , steel well box cover.
A reference point will be marked on the top of each well head , and surveyed by a California
licensed surveying engineer to the nearest 0 . 01 foot to determine the elevation relative to
a surveyed benchmark and to determine GPS coordinates for tracking on the State Water
Resources Control Board (SWRCB) GeoTracker database system .
3 .2 . 3. Remediation Well Development
Development of the proposed ground water monitoring wells will occur no less than
48-hours following well installation , and consist of a combination of bailing to remove the
major portion of fine-grained sediment from inside the well , surging to flush out or draw in
sediment from the filter pack and additional ground water evacuation (purging ) to remove
fine-grained sediment. Development purging activities will be continued until field
parameters (pH , electrical conductivity, and temperature) have stabilized and purged water
is visually sediment-free.
3 . 2 . 4 . Remediation Well Sampling
One remediation well monitoring event will be performed prior to system startup to
establish a baseline concentration value for each well . Ground water sample collection will
be performed in accordance with CVRWQCB and SJCEHD guidelines .
3 . 2 .4. 1 . Static Water Level Measurements
Before purging and sampling during ground water monitoring events , static water level will
be measured using an electric water level indicator. Water level data will be recorded to
the nearest 0 .01 foot from a reference point marked of the top of the PVC well casing .
Before and after each use ,—the electric oil/waterrlevel indicator will-be washed in-an Alconox
solution and rinsed with water.
3 .2 .4 .2 . Well Evacuation
Subsequent to measurement of depth to water and prior to sampling , the well will be
purged utilizing either a submersible pump , inertia pump or by hand bailing to ensure that
the ground water sample is representative of the formation , rather than water standing in
the well casing . The well will be purged until : 1 ) a minimum of three casing volumes is
removed from the well ; and/or 2) the field-measured ground water parameters pH,
Advanced CeoEnvironmen[al, Inc.
