INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this ground water monitoring well
' installation report for 3147 South El Dorado Street(site),Stockton,California The report documents
procedures and results for installation of multi-level ground water monitoring wells at the site during
' July and September 2003 and is in accordance with guidelines issued by the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board(RWQCB)-Central Valley Region for investigations of underground
storage tank(UST)sites The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1,general features at the site
' are illustrated in Figure 2 A summary ofprevious Investigations at the site was Included In the AGE-
prepared Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report-June 1999, dated 26 July 1999
' The scope of work of this Investigation included Installation of five multi-level ground water
monitoring wells(MW-8 through MW-12)with the objective of assessing the Impact of petroleum
hydrocarbons to soil and ground water Based on soil data collected from previous cone penetrometer
' testing(CPT)results and comparison with descriptions from borings previously advanced on the site,
AGE has developed a subsurface model of the site soil stratigraphy comprised of four informal
hydrogeologic zones (Figures 3 and 4), the four hydrogeologic zones (First Water Zone, Second
Water Zone, Third Water Zone and Fourth Water Zone) were identified as having significant
intervals of apparently porous, coarser grained soil, and separated by significant intervals of finer-
grained, less permeable soil Based on AGE's subsurface model, multi-level wells MW-8 through
' MW-12 were screened at depths of between 35 and 45 feet(First Water Zone)below surface grade
(bsg),65 and 75 feet bsg(Second Water Zone),95 and 100 feet bsg(Third Water Zone)and between
120 and 125 feet bsg(Fourth Water Zone)
1
The following is a brief summary of events for the July and September 2003 well Installation
' activities performed at the site
• 14 July 2003-Soil boring for MW-8 advanced to 125 feet bsg, soil samples collected at five-
foot intervals during drilling, boring completed as multi-level monitoring well MW-8(A-C)
• 15 July 2003-Soil boring for MW-9 advanced to 125 feet bsg, soil samples collected at five-
foot intervals during drilling, boring completed as multi-level monitoring well MW-9(A-D)
• 16 July 2003 - Soil boring for MW-12 advanced to 125 feet bsg, soil samples collected at
five-foot Intervals during drilling, boring completed as multi-level monitoring well MW-12
' (A-D) /
• 18 July 2003 - Well development activities performed at wells MW-8,MW-9 and MW-1('
' • 03 September 2003 - Soil boring for MW-10 advanced to 125 feet bsg, soil samples were
collected at five foot intervals starting at 20 feet bsg, boring completed as multi-level
monitoring well MW-10 (A-D)
' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
I
