The results of the
survey are incorporated into this report.
. 3.0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
The laboratory analytical data from this monitoring event show that some
petroleum hydrocarbons were discovered in these wells as listed below.
' MW-1
In monitoring well MW-1, the VOCs detected were benzene (2 ppb), toluene (0S
ppb), and xylene (0.5 ppb). No detectable TPH was found. This level of VOCs is
' similar to that found in the prior monitoring event in June 1995.
MW-4
In monitoring well MW-4, the only detectable VOC was benzene (0.6 ppb). No
detectable TPH was found. This level of VOCs is similar to that found in the
' prior monitoring event in June 1995.
MW-5
' In monitoring well MW-5, the no detectable VOCs of gasoline or diesel range
petroleum hydrocarbons were found. There was however, 110 ppb of oil range
petroleum hydrocarbon. In 8 prior sampling events, were no detectable TPH of
' any range has been found. This well is located in the parking area serving
Cutter Lumber. Indeed, in order to gain access to the well for this monitoring
event, it was necessary to ask an employee to move an auto that had been .
' parked over the well. Moreover, in this well as in the others the lock was found
to be broken and the caps were worn, broken, and only loosely covered the well
casing. It is therefor suspected that the oil range petroleum hydrocarbon
