i
WORK PLAN ADDENDUM
FOR HYDROCARBON IMPACTED SOIL ASSESSMENT
3430 South El Dorado Street
Stockton, California
June, 1994
LO INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Mr. John Urrutia of the Bank of Stockton, Geological
Audit Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this Work Plan Addendum for Hydrocarbon
Impacted Soil Assessment at 3430 South El Dorado Street in Stockton, California(the site).
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Location
• The site is located in a flat industrial area south of Stockton (Figure 1). The facility consists
of a large warehouse and adjoining office and exterior fenced parking/delivery area (see
Figure 2). Gutter Lumber is located to the north of the site, and currently manufactures
wooden pallets.
2.2 UST Removal, 1991
Three underground tanks were removed from the delivery area in June of 1991. Gasoline
contamination was detected in three of the seven soil samples collected from the excavation,
indicating that an unauthorized release of hydrocarbons had occurred and that an
assessment of the site was required.
2.3 Initial Assessment
The assessment of the site was performed in two phases. Each phase consisted of
overexcavation followed by the collection and analysis of soil samples from the walls and
floor of the excavation. The first phase of excavation was performed from September 16
to 24, 1991. The second phase was performed on October 31 and November 1, 1991. The
cavity was enlarged to approximately 50 by 40 feet and a depth of 34 feet. On May 1, 1992,
backfilling of the excavation was completed. The excavation was backfilled to grade with pea
gravel.
&M.1QVWTLIIT WPI.ADD
