Bank of Stockton Cutter Lumber Site
Page 7
Spring Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report
' Project No 102 2
July 13, 1998
' of 80 feet or more Since the conductor casing in this well extends to a depth of
49 feet, while detectable contamination exists in the soil to depths of at least 55
' feet it was previously postulated that the drilling equipment may have carried
low levels of hydrocarbon contamination to these deeper zone and cross-
contaminated it This current sampling event makes the possibility appear less
likely
No diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in any of the
t groundwater samples It now seems clear that diesel range hydrocarbons which
were apparently released in the vicinity of the former "oil supply" building have
not had any substantial impact to the groundwater
' 3.2 Future Work Schedule
' Based on the data collected during the course of this investigation, Geo-Phase
Environmental Inc anticipates the following work be completed in the future
' Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue The depth to
groundwater should be checked monthly for at least the next two quarters Only
' after monitoring has been performed several times will it be possible to
intelligently consider the possibilities for future action It is possible that two to
three additional monitoring wells will be needed to adequately characterize this
' release
The existing well purge water will be disposed of during the next depth to water
measuring event
I
I
2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
