GeoroBica Technw-s-qnc Page 6 <br /> Soil Investigation Report <br /> Bank of Stockton <br /> Project No 443 2 <br /> June 19,1996 <br /> On July 1, 1996 Welenco arrived at the location for the purpose of conducting a <br /> television survey of the well The centralized television camera was lowered into <br /> the well on wireline while real time video images were conveyed back to the logging <br /> van As is discussed more fully in Section 4 5 below, the well was found to have a <br /> total depth of 110 feet <br /> 4.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION <br /> The data collected during this investigation have been summarized in the following <br /> Isections <br /> 4.1 Site Geology <br /> The site is located on the gradually sloped floor of the San Joaquin Valle The <br /> q Y <br /> geologic composition of the area is characterized as continental rocks and deposits <br /> derived from erosion of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range located about 50 mules <br /> east of Modesto The surface geology is composed of soils that were derived from <br /> alluvial fan deposits from rivers draining from the mountains <br /> Based on the soil boring logs from this investigation and from groundwater <br /> I morutoring wells located nearer the south end of the Property, the upper 12 to 18 <br /> inches of the subsurface consists of gravely, imported road base lying atop about 3 <br /> to 4 feet of dark gray clay with a plastic texture Below the clay, the soil is a light <br /> I yellowish brown to brown clayey silt soil There are thin lenses of sandy material <br /> intercalated with the silt <br /> i 4.2 Site Hydrology <br /> Based of groundwater monitoring data from the five existing monitoring wells on <br /> the property, the groundwater surface lies at about 35 feet with a northeasterly <br /> trending gradient There is considerable seasonal variation in the depth to <br /> groundwater <br /> 4.3 Hydrocarbon Distribution in the Soil <br /> Below the road base, the soil appeared to be native material in all borings except B5 <br /> The material encountered in B5 appeared to be backfill It did not appear similar to <br /> the clay found in the other borings and miscellaneous items of debris such a wood <br /> splinters and nails were found in the soil cuttings The borehole logs are attached as <br /> Appendix D <br />
