El Dorado
Stockton, California
May 3, 1996
Project No 443 2
I
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Work Plan outlines the procedures, protocol, and methods of the proposed
investigation to help characterize the vertical and lateral extent of possible
petroleum hydrocarbons that may have been released from former aboveground and
below ground storage tanks on the Property, and to investigate the physical condition
of a nearby domestic water well in which petroleum hydrocarbons have been
detected
I2.0 SITE HISTORY
Currently, Otter Lumber is operating on the Property as a tenant. Previously,
I Western Lumber Sales and Power Lift, which were both owned by the same
individual, operated on the Property for many years One of the businesses, Power
Lift, operated 3 UST's which were removed in 1989 and were found to have leaked
fuel which impacted the soil and groundwater
In 1991, the tank site was over excavated and the soil was disposed of. In 1992 and
1993 a total of 5 groundwater monitoring wells were installed at locations around the
former tank pit Since groundwater monitoring has been conducted, the level of
total petroleum hydrocarbons has decreased to non-detectable levels and BTEX has
. decreased to MCL or less
