May 23,2000
' 4.0 DISCUSSION
' 4.1 Discussion of Data
' Field and analytical data results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2 and
illustrated 1n Figures 3 through 5
' The map of groundwater gradient (Figure 3) suggests that the flow of
groundwater is to the northeast The water table has risen about three feet
since the monitoring event in January 20 of this year The direction and
' gradient of flow have remained generally consistent over this enure time the
wells have been monitored
' In general, the analytic data suggest that contaminant levels are gradually
consistent decreasing except in the area of MW-SB For the first time the
sample from MW-9 dad not contain detectable petroleum hydrocarbons At
' therefore appears that the lateral extent of the contaminant plume may also be
decreasing
'• 4.2 Future Work Schedule
' Quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling should continue The San
Joaquin County PHS/EHD directive to submit a Work Plan to further
characterize the extent of the deeper portions of the hydrocarbon contaminant
' plume, and the feasibility of possible remedial action alternatives The portion
of the directive pertaining to deep aquifers 1s no longer operative, and the
feasibility study has been suspended pending the results of a feasibility study
' for the adjacent Manna Pro site at 4004 S El Dorado Street At this time, a
pilot test for a vapor extraction 1 air sparge system is in progress The feasibility
study should be completed in the next few months
i
' 2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
