Work Plan-Pilot Testing Page 15
Cutter Lumber Site
Project No. 102.3
October 30,2001
I
7.0 REPORTING
Two separate reports will be issued. The first will be a report of the pilot remedial system
and its operation, and the second will be a feasibility study that evaluated various
remedial alternatives
7.1 Pilot Testing
A report will be submitted upon completion of the work outlined above. This includes
sections documenting the construction of new service wells and the installation and
' operation of the pilot testing. The results of the pilot test will be summarized and
evaluated, and conclusions will be draw regarding the effectiveness of vapor extraction
and vapor extraction with air sparging.
' 7.2 FeasibilityStudy
Y
' The second report will evaluate several remedial options. Once the options are evaluated,
a remedial alternative can be chosen based upon the results of the pilot test and the results
• of the previous pilot investigation. Once a remedial alternative is chosen, a Remedial
' Action Plan can be created describing the construction and operation of a remedial system
for the site. This will include a discussion of previously completed characterization and
pilot work at the site.
7.1.1 Evaluation 1 - Natural Attenuation
' This portion of the report will discuss the implications of a monitoring only approach.
1 7.2.2 Evaluation 2 - Soil Vapor Extraction
This section will discuss soil vapor extraction and its effectiveness alone as a remedial
option.
7.2.3 Evaluation 3 - SVE with Groundwater Pumping
This section will discuss thep otential for combining soil vapor extraction with
groundwater pumping to remediate soil and groundwater contamination at the site.
i
2937 Veneman Ave.,46240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
