Report-Well Abandonment Page 5
Western Lift/ Cutter Lumber Site- Case 2
GPE Project No. 102.3
March 28, 2014
Upon completing the pressure grouting, the drilling rig was used to over drill the surface
well box. A 2-foot diameter bucket auger was used to cut through the pavement and
remove the well box and surrounding cement collar to a depth of at least 3 feet. The well
casing was then cut off, leaving a short casing stub of about 6 inches above the bottom of
the excavation. Next, additional grout was pumped into the pit and brought up to a depth
sufficient to cover the casing stub by at least 6 inches. After the cement was allowed to
set, the remainder of each excavation was filled with base rock gravel to a depth of 4
inches below grade.
2.4 Finish Work
Upon completion of the over drilling or pressure grouting, each former well site was
brought back to grade with redi-mix concrete.
2937 Veneman Avenue,Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
